Frequently Asked Questions
1. What issues can I bring to therapy?
You’re welcome to bring anything that’s on your mind — anxiety, low mood, relationship struggles, stress, identity concerns, or simply feeling stuck. There’s no need for a diagnosis or a “big” reason. If something feels important or difficult, it’s worth exploring.
2. Who do you work with?
I work one-on-one with individual adults (18 years and older) from diverse backgrounds. My practice is inclusive and welcoming to all, including members of the LGBTQ+ community and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
3. What is your therapeutic approach?
I work in a humanistic and integrative way, meaning therapy is tailored to your individual needs. I draw from different methods — including psychodynamic therapy, CBT, existential therapy, and solution-focused work — depending on what supports you best.
4. Do you offer online or in-person sessions
Yes, I offer both:
-
Online sessions can be booked by emailing me at gbeniutetherapy@gmail.com, texting or calling me on 0857292774 or directly through my Instagram: @giedre_beniute
-
In-person sessions are held at the Bath Avenue Counselling Centre, Sandymount, Dublin 4—more information is available in the Contact section.
5. What languages do you offer therapy in?
I provide therapy in English, Lithuanian, and Russian.
6. What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy and determine if working together feels right. There’s no pressure to share everything — we’ll go at your pace, and you can ask any questions you may have.
7. How long are sessions, and how often do we meet?
Each session is 50 minutes, and most clients attend once a week at a regular time. We can discuss what frequency feels manageable and supportive for you.
8. Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Everything you share in therapy is confidential, with a few rare exceptions, such as the risk of harm, which are clearly explained in our agreement before we begin.

9. What if I’m unsure therapy is right for me?
That’s completely understandable. You’re welcome to reach out with questions or book an initial session with no pressure to continue. If I’m not the right fit, I’ll be happy to help guide you toward other supports.
10. What happens if there are no available appointments?
If no spaces are available, I can place you on a waiting list and notify you as soon as a space becomes available. If you need urgent support, I will do my best to refer you to a trusted colleague who may be able to assist you sooner.
